NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill review
It took me nearly two hours to actually review this treadmill, and I hope I can translate everything into a small but decent NordicTrack T 6.5 S treadmill review. First of all, the treadmill is a massive display of quality manufacturing that commands attention. That being said, it is a stunningly designed product, and likely the most attractive model within this price range (up to $600).
With a wide enough running track, and sturdy enough command board, it feels quite spacious and durable. The side handles are strong and adequately placed, and the shock absorbing system underneath the track is unlike anything I’ve ever felt on a treadmill this low on the price scale.
The motor itself is a beast of a machine, with a power of 2.6 CHP, capable enough to comfortably rotate the track even at challenging speed. The loudness is minimal, and close to what other treadmills produce.
Tons of features
The T 6.5 S features an automatic incline capacity, that can switch anywhere between 0-10% incline at the touch of a button. If you chose to run with custom Google maps, an iFit subscription (sold separately) will adjust your incline accordingly, so it replicates the actual road. iFit is the world’s number one terrain simulator, and the NordicTrack T 6.5 S is one of the few models below $600 that has access. I tried and paired it with street view, and ran through Paris and few outdoor tracks – the incline mechanism reacts perfectly to give you the feeling of continuous change of terrain. Can’t wait to see how this will feel in quality VR.
Included are 20 training modes created by certified professionals, and from what I can tell, you’ll have a few months of challenges without running out of training ideas.
The 5 inch backlit display is conveniently large, and you can control the treadmill and all of its functions via the command board that features a nicely designed and very intuitive interface.
You also have the cardio grip heart rate sensor, which keeps track of your heart rate as you train. Built into each handle, it sends accurate readings straight to the console.
Smart running track
The running track is comfortable enough to run freely without feeling contrived. Shorter or longer stride, you won’t feel a difference in how the running track responds.
Smart technology allows the track to change its properties, and switch between the FlexSelect cushioning (which reduces impact and protects your joints), or a firm deck that feels more like running on the road. With the simple turn of a knob, the switch is gradual and you can fine tune your track.
